4th Meeting of the Coordination Commission of LIFE Natura2000Value Crete

The 4th meeting of the Coordination Commission of the project LIFE Natura2000Value Crete, was held on Monday 6th of June 2016, in the premises of the Natural History Museum of Crete. 

In the meeting, apart from the members of the Coordination Commission, the representative of the External Monitoring Team of the project, Mr. Giorgos Mousouris was present.  

The objective of the meeting was the review of the actions either completed or being in progress, while administrative and economic issues of the programme were discussed. 

Moreover, the results of the study and evaluation of the ecosystem services of the Natura 2000 sites were presented, highlighting the Provisional services, for example the production of crops and livestock farming in Crete. An external partner of the Directorate of Coordination and Supervision of Forests (DAAC), Dicentralized Administration Authority of Crete, presented the results. This study was realized in the context of the preparatory actions, with the use of the Geographic Information Systems (Action B1). Finally, a representative of the Hellenic Ornithological Society (HOS) presented the strategy for the environmental education which will start to be implemented from the next school year (2016-2017).
