News Release: Workshops of the project LIFE Natura2000 Value Crete in the Municipalities of Platanias, Kissamos and Kandanos-Selinos, 25, 27 & 28 July 2017

The workshops of the project LIFE Natura2000Value Crete took place in the Municipalities of Platanias, Kissamos and Kandanos-Selinos on the 25th, the 27th and the 28th of July 2017. They are the 16th, 17th and the 18th of a series of 24 workshops which will be held in all of the Municipalities of Crete in the context of the project's actions. The workshops were entitled ''NATURA 2000 sites: Opportunity or obstacle for the development?" and the themes covered were the NATURA 2000 sites at European, national and local level and the socio-economic benefits the human societies get from nature and wildlife. The workshops were completed with speeches dedicated to the NATURA 2000 areas of the Regional Unit of Chania and the essential actions for the preservation and promotion of local products and services. During the workshops, the new documentary of the project was presented to the attendants who discussed its content with the scientists of NHMC (Action C14: Open events).
