The project LIFE Natura2000Value Crete participated in the events organised by the Municipality of Chania in order to celebrate the World Environment Day
In the context of the celebration of the World Environment Day, the University of Crete and the National Histoy Museum of Crete (NHMC) participated in the events of the Municipality of Chania on Sunday, the 5th of June 2016.

News Release: Celebration of the Pan-European Day for the NATURA 2000 Network in Axos village, Mylopotamos
The 21st of May is dedicated to the NATURA 2000 Network by the European Union. ''LIFE Natura2000 Value Crete'' celebrated that day organising an event in Axos village, Mylopotamos, in collaboration with ANIMA (Hellenic wildlife care association) and the Cultural Association of Axos – Livada, on Sunday 29th of May. The highlight of the event was the release of 5 wild raptors (Gyps fulvus) in the local gorge.

Participation of LIFE Natura2000Value Crete in the 53rd World Congress of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA)
The 53rd World Congress of the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA) was held in Turin Italy between the 20th and 22nd of April 2016. “Tasting the Landscape” was the title of the Congress in which at least 1300 participants had been preregistered.
News Release: Educational seminar for journalists, journalism students and mass media professionals
An educational seminar was held on Saturday, 16th of April in the National History Museum of Crete, as a part of the action D1 (Training seminars for the target audiences) of LIFE Natura2000Value Crete. The target groups of the seminars include people who are active in NATURA 2000 sites or deal with environmental issues.
5th Festival of Traditional Varieties Seeds Exchange
LIFE Natura2000Value Crete participated in the 5th Festival of Traditional Varieties Seeds Exchange in Pyrgos, Municipality of Archanes - Asterousia, on Sunday the 10th of April 2016. The festival has been organised by the Local Group of the Alternative Community Peliti since 2012, aiming at the promotion of organic farming, alternative agricultural methods, the conservation of traditional seeds, the free exchange of goods and the solidarity among the local communities.
Participation of the project in the 3rd Nikiforeios run
LIFE Natura2000Value Crete participated in the 3rd Nikiforeios run organised by the following: Department of Athletics of the Municipality of Rethymno and Rethymno Health Run with the support of the Regional Unit of Rethymno and the Cultural Associations of the Municipal Unit of Nikiforos Fokas and the Greek Mountaineering Club of Rethymno. The event aimed at motivating the public to paricipate, regardless of age, in athletic activities and at the same time designating, through sports, the historic value and natural beauty of the Municipality of Rethymno.
